The Friends of Wood County CASA (5013c) are seeking sponsors for our annual Karen Swartz Memorial 5K for 2018.  We use this walk to raise awareness and recruit new volunteers for the Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. The Karen Swartz Walk was started in 2011 and has drawn between 125 and 175 attendees each year since 2013. After successfully expanding the event to include a 5K run in addition to our family walk in 2016, we’ve decided to continue with this format for future events. In order to make each event the best possible experience for our attendees, we’re hoping your organization will provide us with support as official sponsors.

As our sponsor, your logo will be featured on the back of our official event T-Shirts. If you choose to become a sponsor at the signature tier, your logo will be printed at the top of the list with a larger logo image along with the logos of our other signature sponsors. These logos will be followed by the logos of the sponsors in our other two tiers:

Signature Tier:

$100

Middle Tier:

$50

Donator:

$25

We are also seeking donations of water and snacks such as bagels or fruit for our participants. Organizations contributing water or snacks will also be featured on our T-Shirts.

In 2017, with the assistance of 41 volunteers, the Wood County CASA program served as the voices of 171 neglected and abused children in the Wood County Juvenile Court.  Many of these children's lives have been impacted by the heroin epidemic.  The Friends of CASA program hopes to use this event to recruit additional volunteers in order to ensure that these victims of abuse and neglect are given a safe, permanent home. For additional information on the Wood County CASA program or the Friends of CASA organization, please check out our website at www.woodcountycasa.org.

As more information becomes available for this year’s Karen Swartz Memorial walk, you can click the link to the races on http://davesrunning.com/runsignup/.   We anticipate that it will be held in October.  I
